Three separate villages in three separate parts of the world pass these stories down through their generations. The stories always begin with a storm.
“Long ago there was a storm,” they would tell us. “It was the worst storm to befall our village throughout its entire history. Lighting revealed massive black clouds roiling above. Explosions of thunder obliterated all other sound. The villagers quaked in fear for their lives, as the wind was so powerful. The storm began at midday and lasted all through the night. Afterward, it rained for days… “
The storm strikes in 1841.
Jai’ Doro, Brazil, is a small dying village until the storm brings a stranger with an armful of vines, who prepares them a delicious red tea.
A new settlement (Settlers Way) in the unclaimed west far south of the Oregon Territory, is caught in the storm with little shelter but their own covered wagons. Strange lights are seen landing on the mountains beside them, and a mysterious group of people shares some life-changing knowledge, then disappear.
In Saint Ange, France, the storm brings change to the lives of a homeless girl, a boy who tells fortunes and a wealthy boy who resides in the majestic Chateau la Montagne on the mountain overlooking the village.
Nearly a hundred years later, the facts have been lost or changed, and beliefs are tested. Odd things occur.
Jai’ Doro becomes a village divided. They are bound by a curse that a younger generation does not believe. When there is murder among them, everyone must stand together, as vengeance is avowed.
Settler’s Way encounters a serial killer from a neighboring town. Can they expose him without revealing their own dark secrets?
Saint Ange is a fairytale that turns into a nightmare.
Something came here from out of the storm, and something has changed, but the changes must be kept secret. As the secrets uncover, they threaten the lives of those who have kept them.
And this is only the beginning.
