Deer in Headlights: A Dark Fantasy Novelette

In the wild, untamed forests of the Pacific Northwest, post-grad student Caitlin Banks has discovered a mineral with unusual properties that she thinks could turn the medical industry on its ear.

But after a horrible car crash, she wakes in the forest, surrounded by animals and winged people—and their protector—who don’t want her there.

When her determination meets their resistance, things go sideways, and Cait is no longer sure what is real and what is nightmare.
